Smithfield Nocturne

This is what we did today................
Don't worry, there will be beer.... after Rapha's beautiful old Citroen...

the olde red cow, which was promoting Tim Taylors Landlord in an unusual fashion....

and then they were promoting along these lines
Then we went for a beer in The Butchers Hook and Cleaver....
Two pints, one of ESB, the other, keg London Porter came to £7.10, won't be rushing back there in a hurry.......... (oh, they also served their beers in plastic ''glasses'')

lots of bikes locked up in safety at Smithfield Market (including ours, way down the back...)

There were lots of wild, weird and wonderful bike on view, loads of fixies, including this beaut...

However, the maddest thing we found was this (apologies for the flash bounce)

free beer ......  wahey ............ then the other side........
ok the photo won't load but £23.50 for a gents haircut......
How much free beer will that get you?

Anyway, we went to the Rising Sun..

beer prices slightly more civilised....

Apropos of nothing....

On the river-bank near the Anchor and Hope, High Hill Ferry.
Too many cyclists passed through here too fast; hence the gates...
....and the warning....

we always go through slowly, too many kids and ''tipsy types'' on the towpath outside the pub..
big up to the beardymen outside though

This is on now.
Martin the Mild Man rated it at 18 (out of 20)
He said it was the first time he had rated it above 16.
Burnley Dave was in agreement.
6 days past it's best before date....
ho hum
Obviously this is not Martin with Black Cat...
